There is a building, I will tell you the address, it is 516 143 st., btwn Broadway and Amsterdam, and the tenants there have been on rent strike for over a year for unsafe conditions. The front door doesnt lock, the elevator inspection is expired, the wiring is unsafe.
This building is also listging an apt, on the 4th floor, a 3 BR for 2000, I think. And they are listing with every broker in NY. And of course they do not tell the broker the bit about the rent strike. I wouldn't know except that my brother saw it one day and was lucky ebough to run into the head of the tenant's association.
Since then, over five different broker's have tried to show me this place. two brokers from the same brokerage. I keep telling them about it. And finally today someone tried to show it to me and I told him about the place, so they can tag it, so they can stop showing it. This guy hung up on me. None of them have thanked me, none have listened to me, and is it too much to ask just that you do your goddamn job and stop showing illegal apartments? |
